A Rather Thunderous Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Close the Strand and just throw everything off!  The Professor surveys the repairs to the uneven brick pavers on the strand (#1).  The tiles they used tended to break and throw the cyclers and skaters off their games.  They're now removing the tiles and filling in with concrete to make smoother transitions...  (photo:  Jetski for World Wheels Tomorrow)

Started out cloudy this morning with about 5 miles visibility, then got progressively darker until the weather closed in with thunder, lightning and rain about 10am.  Just about the time Jah and Christian were hitting the water...  Winds have been fluky out of the SE and then turning more westerly.  The air temp was 53.3 and the water is 60.6.  High tide was at 6:12am +5.5' and low tide follows at 1:30pm -0.4'.  We have a west swell out of 279º at 2.6' and it was 3' to 4', but breaking really close to shore with the full tide.  As the rain began, conditions degraded and now it's a bit confused.  Not supposed to rain tomorrow, so there might be a window in the morning for those who aren't concerned about the run-off...

So we're walking from checking out the surf and we see this sign suggesting uneven pavement (#2)...  then a few steps further we see that the driver has been thrown out of the car and it is now on the sidewalk (#3).  Be careful while driving in Hermosa!

#4 is a change from the typical chocolate rabbits for Easter...  Not sure about the comments though:  "Let's get chummy" "I'm Hooked" "Jawsome"  "How about a little bite", maybe they're considering "Great White Chocolate" or "Choco-Mako"... (photo:  Reneé for Confectioners Gaze)
