Touch-Tone Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

There have been people who begin crossing this bridge (#1) and never get to the other side...  It is assumed they get caught in the vines and are trapped forever.  You might ask why you would even think of crossing this span...  Well, there's surf on the other side...

Cloudy and windless this morning, although the sea surface was a bit bumped and there was some backwash from the tide. The air temperature was 52.2 and the water is yet 60.6.  High tide was early at 4:30am +5.2' and low tide was at 11:53am +0.4'.  We have a WSW swell out of 258º for your surfing pleasure.  Once again, despite the meager swell, it was 3' to 4' with some fun peaks.  It was bumped a bit but still got some good ones.  Kids out mañana at 8am...  See you then!

This is what Happy Hour looks like (#2) and that's before Reneé, Marisa, and Tom and Kathy showed up!  Always a good time and props to Yoshi for being the head wagon master and location supervisor!  We're off this week to Boise in the frozen north, but feel free to party-on...

"Barahona Only" parking spots (#3).  It's usually a bit more crowded...

Okay, when we were kids we used to run around the back seat of our Dad's Chevy.  There were no car seats and you might not believe this, but there were NO SEATBELTS.  LoLa's dad used to throw a mattress in the back of their station wagon and the kids would sleep, wrestle, eat and throw the wrappers out the window and run laps...  But that was then.  Now we have car seats that are made out of the same material they make black boxes for airplanes out of.  The featured prototype (#4) is the "Top Gun" model that comes with altimeter, full-view dash, window tint controls and anti-g pressure suit.  The polarized little kid aviators are extra...  (model: Scarlett Fast, photo by Barry Santos for Rocket World)
