Minivan Monday Surf & Culture Reporty

Lost Boys & Co...

In photo #1 we have the three basic decisions about taking off.  From right to left:  1. forget it, duck dive and see what's behind this one.  2. Turn and burn or dive this one (looks like he's going to dive.)  3. On the corner and it looks like it has possibilities...

Rain for most of the day, limiting visibility at times to less than 300yds.  Winds were fluky offshore at times to 15kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temperature was 50.0 and the water is 61.0.  Low tide was at 10:25am +1.9' and high tide will be at 3:49pm +2.9'.  We had a west swell out of 265º at 3.9' and it was 3' to 5' depending on your location...

Here (#2) we have Lieutenant J. Sensei-Joey of the 344th Drone Urban Ursine Assault Division.  Wearing the traditional bear-skin hoody, cape, and corduroy trousers.  Originated on the steppes of Kansas, this elite force has recently been flown to the coast to monitor contraband coming in at Paddleboard Cove...  It's a tough job, but someone has to do it...

A drone by any other name is a great platform for some extraordinary views.  Sunset, Hermosa (#3) after a day of rain...

The Professor and Dono (#4) talking story.  Dono and the Professor teamed up on some incredible projects during the 80's and 90's creating various theme dances (typically hosted by Denny Hengen).  You might remember several of the Bishop Montgomery bashes (Under the Sea, Evening in Paris and A Night In Ancient Greece) as well as fund raisers and Memorial Day picnic dances.  They also decorated the Double Tree Hilton ballroom, The Fort MacArthur Officers club and built the stage and props for Denny Hengen's Wild West Club.  This week Dono took a stumble down the ramp at Avenue C and is currently on the mend.  We're sending best wishes his way!
