Especially For A Friend Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Attachment #1 mirrors our sentiments to an alarming degree...

Partly cloudy this morning with 10 miles visibility and a lot more sun than yesterday.  That's why it doesn't feel like it's freezing!  The offshore wind has backed off a bit to 3.3kts and the sea surface is smooth.  The air temperature is 49.2 and the water is 60.4.  High tide was at 9:48am +5.6' and low tide will be at 5:01pm -0.3'.  We have a building WSW swell out of 250º at 4.9' and it was 4' to 6' at most spots...  Supposed to be bigger mañana...

Not sure, but it looks like Trevor LaShure at Burnout (#2).  It seems like the Burnout peak has migrated a bit toward Avenue I.  Tomorrow might be a good day to take a look and see who's charging...

Here's a shot of our friend Hugo Vau (#3) who just paddled into this monster.  Yes, he PADDLED into it!  The guy on the jet ski is merely monitoring his progress...  This is the start of the big wave season in Nazaré and we wish him luck this year as he tackles some of the world's most challenging surf...

There are several things we really like about photo #4.  The first would be that atmospheric effect that makes Catalina look like it's floating above sea level.  Looks like it could be from a Japanese wood cut.  Then, there's that fine little right that's reeling along the inside there.  It was working all morning... And finally, there's Tamara out there on her new SUP.  She's really been ripping the last couple of years and now she's got some more responsive equipment...

Hora de Fiesta this week will be at El Torito on the Redondo Beach pier.  5:30 in or near the bar...  Olé!
