It's A Montage Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

For all you fans of the rain, you should be extremely happy today.  In fact, the forecast suggests that you're going to have periods of giddiness, with chuckles and snickers thrown in, with occasional snorts (Jah Morgan)...  Of course there are always those (#1) who'd rather look for rainbows...

Cloudy all day with rain and drizzles.  Visibility around 3 miles.  Winds were fierce offshore, to 15kts, reducing the advertised air temperature from 51, to somewhere in the 40's.  The sea surface was smoothed out and lightly textured and the water temperature is 60.6, despite the wind.  High tide was at 9:11am +5.8' and low tide will be at 4:30pm -0.6', so you can get a few clams before the sun sets at 4:59pm.  We have a strong west swell out of 265º at 5.9' and we're calling it 4' to 7' and if you're willing to brave the cold and compromised water quality you could get some good ones!

A couple of our favorite spots were cranking as the pier nugget (#2) kept sending these soft lefts into the pilings.  You, of course, go around the pilings...  Or you could cruise down about 20 yards (#3) and snag this peak that featured a right that ended up in the rip that would save you a lot of paddling...

Meanwhile, Jetski (#4) makes his own fun in a perfect example of erect tile function...

We shouldn't let it slide that today in 1964 the first service uniform was trademarked™ with the U.S. Patent Office.  Yes, that would be the Playboy™ bunny costume.  It was worn by the servers from 1960 to 1988.  It was designed by Ilse Taurins to match the rabbit logo of Playboy magazine...  Her mom stitched the prototype because, well, Ilse wasn't the kind of girl who knew how to sew...
