Mitosis Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

So here we have a pair of suave couples...  We're lookin' at Ivan and LoLa and Chuck and Paulette.  Seems like a few folks gathered at the Professor's to celebrate a Portagee Thanksgiving.  Turkey?  No.  Linguiça and beans, just like the original folks had who discovered the New World - the Portuguese.

A beautiful summer's morning as the sun boiled up in the east at 6:25am.  Visibility was 23 miles and the sky was cloudless.  Winds were offshore by 5.2kts and the sea surface was glassy.  The air temperature was 55.7° and the water is 61.5°.  High tide is at 5:21am +4.7' and low tide will be at 11:42am +2.0'.  We're working toward more radical tidal swings as we head toward the weekend and next week.  The buoy is reading a west swell out of 265° at 2.6' to 3.0'.  We're calling it 2' to 3', but it's a bit walled and not very makeable.  That being said, we saw a couple at the Hermosa Pier that John Grannis managed to almost get to the corners on.  There were 8 guys out at the Cove, but it was small enough that it was kinda crowded on the peak...  It's supposed to get better starting on Wednesday...
