Much Too Cold Tuesday Surf & Culture Rep[ort

Lost Boys & Co...

We have never been so happy to see a palm tree in our whole lives!  Dammit, it's cold up there in Idaho and it decided to snow everywhere we went.  Everywhere.  It snowed almost constantly until St. George Utah.  The Salt Lake City area had 600 accidents in the TWO days we were on the road.  We saw cars in ditches, cars facing the wrong way and multiple skid/pile/crunches.  The Professor got out of the car in Vegas at Mandalay Bay and hugged the first palm tree he saw...  it was 40°, but it wasn't snowing!

A beautiful morning here in the sunbelt!  25 miles visibility and clear, blue skies.  Winds were offshore by 3.2kts and the sea surface was glassy.  The air temperature was 45.0° (although various cars registered in the 30's on their thermometers!) and the water was 56.7° outside of Danger Boy's submarine.  Low tide was at 11:20am +1.1' and high tide will be at 5:04pm +3.8'.  The buoy is reading a west swell out of 273° at 2.0' and we're calling it 2' and poor to fair.

The BMHS surf team met Peninsula this morning and almost beat them!  If we'd only had a few more surfers, we might have taken it all.  Some of the standouts in their respective heats were Nick Tolan (2nd), Adam Balderas (2nd), Sammy Petroni (1st), Karly Goins (2nd), Annie Grove (1st), Nick Terrazas (2nd), Savana Schwartzkopf (3rd) and Matt Harris (1st.)

Attached you'll find a couple of shots of the trailer, bringing back some fresh cut Christmas trees for the fam.  Some pretty heavy icing on the leading edges there...
