This Is Really Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

"Everyone is gifted.  Some open the package sooner."

Looks like Alec, Suzanne and Jackie.  This is obviously not the Group W Bench.  Then we have Ronnie on deck, taking care of business from the second level.

Hazy, almost foggy this morning.  Three miles visibility, but it's clearing as we check out the surf.  Winds are already onshore, variable to 7.0kts and the sea surface has a healthy tack to it.  The air temp was 55.7° and the water is 62.2°.  High tide starts out at 6:32am +5.7' and low tide follows at 1:29pm +0.4'.  The tide really starts to fluctuate tomorrow, hitting minuses in the pm low tides.  The buoy shows a SW swell out of 224° at 3.0'.  The morning high tide and wind is messing things up a bit.  It could be better at some of the rocky spots when the tide goes down...

From SwellWatch:
Today (Thursday) we have a moderate mix of mostly WNW swell along the California coast. Size backs down Friday and then wind swell is due this weekend -- but it's not looking pretty. Smaller surf is on tap next week, and the Thanksgiving 4-dayer is looking weak at this point. Condition-wise: onshore flow is underway; plenty of rain is in the forecast; wind problems are on the horizon; the tide is starting to swing rather widely; and a poor pattern for surf on the long range is setting up across the Pacific.

Note:  We'll be on vacation for the next week, so the report will be sporadic when/if it appears.  We're trying to lay-in a few photos to keep you interested and we'll have the buoy and tide reports...
